In January 2024, the Great Lakes Chapter of Links, Incorporated hosted “Breaking the Chains: A Community Forum on Human Trafficking” at the University of Detroit Mercy Student Union Ballroom. Michigan’s position in the top 10 U.S. states for human trafficking underscores the importance of our collective efforts. Attendees learned about the intricate link between human trafficking and mental health, the influence of social media, and engaged in enlightening discussions with our panel of experts. This crucial event was created to raise awareness and foster action toward ending human trafficking.
